Integrating massage and bodywork into your life isn't an expense, rather an investment in your health.

If you are seeking a service that will strive to identify the underlying cause of your aches and pain, I'm here to help! I want to see my clients achieve lasting results, not just temporary relief. Most people choose the conventional route of immediate alleviation from pharmaceutical drugs. And while pills have their purpose, they won't get to the underlying cause of chronic pain, and can cause unwanted side effects. Have you ever questioned why you're hurting? That's what l question every time I see a client. And yes, I can rub out the "knot" in between the shoulder blades, and tell you to have a good day—but is this really doing you any good? Maybe so, but it's no more than just temporary relief. I like to look upstream and ask: why are you sore in between the shoulder blades? Is it due to poor posture, overuse, underuse, injury, psychological stress, nerve entrapment, etc? And how can I help you minimize or correct this? Most of the time, the pain isn't where the problem is, and it takes more than just tending to what hurts to fully correct the issue. Alternative medicine—like massage and bodywork—might not deliver the immediate alleviation that the over-the-counter analgesics or injections will. However, the goal is to provide lasting results, with little to no risks. To achieve this, consistency is key—and you can't expect one session to "fix" everything. In fact, massage therapists don't "fix" anything. Rather, we facilitate and work with the body to re-educate the neuromuscular system so it can function properly. The pain and tension is often accumulated over years of repetitive movement and stress, and your nervous system has adapted to it. It takes time to release and re-train the neuromuscular system so your body can function optimally without restriction. In addition to massage and bodywork—incorporating lifestyle changes like yoga/ stretching, proper nutrition and hydration, meditation/mindfulness, corrective exercises, and sufficient sleep will also help to accelerate results and recovery. I can only do so much as a massage therapist, and it's what the client does outside my office that makes the most difference!
